Day One of the two-day Digital Buddies Training is now underway under the project Digital Innovation to Boost Economic Development in Belize 2026—implemented by the University of Belize through the Institutional Advancement Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of E-Governance and the Ministry of Finance, and funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

 

Digital Buddies are being trained to support community-based digital literacy workshops for 750 citizens nationwide, providing peer mentorship, basic troubleshooting, and post-project sustainability support.

 

They’ll also assist Training Coordinators in delivering sessions on:

Basic computer usage

Digital communication

Internet safety & cybersecurity

E-commerce & online banking

Access to government e-services

Lifelong learning pathways
